Detroit Motor Show presented the best designed vehicles of 2012.
The judges of the annual Eyes On Design Awards including representatives of the design studios of leading automobile manufacturers awarded the most beautiful cars at Detroit Motor Show.
The best production vehicle was a hybrid coupe Cadillac ELR. That model gained more points than BMW M6 Gran Coupe, Audi RS7 and Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.
ELR is designed as Converj concept debuted at the Detroit Auto Show four years ago. The designers laid emphasis on aerodynamics but not to the detriment of design. Due to special curtains on the grill, a special form of the front part of the body, the rear spoiler, and the tilt angles of the windshield and the rear window the creators achieved a coefficient of drag of 0.305.
The car is equipped by the 207-hp propulsion system included a 1.4-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor.
The concept award ended in a tie between a brutal truck Ford F-150 Atlas implying at the future design and features of new American trucks and the Nissan Resonance hybrid crossover giving a notion of the next generation of Nissan Murano.
Last year of the best production vehicle was Ford Fusion, and the best concept car was Lexus LF-LC.
