Saab to debut new sedan in 2017, four models to follow
Saab is time for the automotive affray in 2017 with an all electric car according to a "greatly updated" 93 sedan.
Talking at Stora Bildagen -- billed as Sweden's biggest automotive seminar -- Mattias Bergman, president of Saab's parent organization NEVS summarized a five-version line to be rolled-out by 2018. According to Saab Site, these cars will soon be produced accessible in Sweden and China first.
The report further notes the 9-3-based EV will soon be constructed in Saab's old factory in Trollhattan and gathered in a brand new plant in Tianjin, China. Bergman states the yet-unnamed pilot version will function as a proof-of-concept prior to another four all-new versions are established.
The four 2018 versions will include a mid-size family SUV, an "energetic allrounder" mid-size fastback, a mid-size crossover with styling like the fastback, as well as a a tight sporty city SUV. These are going to share an electrical powertrain constructed on the typical Phoenix structure. Seemingly, an early in the day report in regards to a reunite of SportCombi is not valid. There are not any names for the versions yet, as well as the Saab brand it self isn't a sure thing (though it's probably, says Saab Web Log).
Bergman called the job "among the biggest industrial industrial jobs in Sweden."
