Dodge 600 appeared in market as four-door sedan produced in two configurations: standard and ES. The car was equipped with 2.2L 4-cylinder Chrysler engine and optionally 2.6L 4-cylinder Mitsubishi engine was available.
Noteworthy that sales of Dodge 600 double increased in its second year as soon as 2.2L turbocharged engine increasing power of the car became available.
In 1985 essentially upgrades were made. Sedan base was extended, ES trim was replaced by new SE trim. The coupe and cabriolet remained almost untouched excluding small cosmetic changes in interior and exterior just for refresh.
In 1986 it was decided for some reason to return ES trim to sedan. Radiator grille was restyled as well as the rear part of coupe and cabriolet. Previous 2.6 L engine was replaced by new 2.5 L engine of Chrysler.
In 1987 coupe and cabriolet production was stopped and Dodge 600 production was moving to its end to be replaced by new Dodge Spirit.
